Using Digital Technology to Improve Learning

Guidance report from Education Endowment Foundation designed to support senior leaders and teachers to make better informed decisions, including a number of practical examples of technology being used in ways which support improved teaching and learning.

The report aims to help schools consider how they can use digital technology to improve pupils’ learning.

The four recommendations are:

  • Consider how technology will improve teaching and learning before introducing it
  • Technology can be used to improve the quality of explanations and modelling
  • Technology offers ways to improve the impact of pupil practice
  • Technology can play a role in improving assessment and feedback

The question of how to use technology to improve learning is not distinct from the question of how to teach effectively, or of how children learn.
